About ScanOFe
Built by people who
lived the problem
every day in clinic
ScanOFe did not begin as a technology project. It began as a clinical frustration — the recognition that fetal medicine, despite extraordinary imaging technology, had no structured tool for the decision-making step that mattered most. This is the story of how that frustration became a product.
The Origin
How ScanOFe came to exist
Our founding clinical team had been practising fetal medicine for over three decades when the problem became undeniable — not in a single dramatic case, but in the accumulated weight of thousands of consultations. Modern ultrasound equipment had reached a level of technical sophistication that was genuinely transformative. The images were clear. The measurements were precise. The data was excellent.
The problem was what happened after the data was acquired. When findings were normal, the workflow was smooth. When findings were abnormal, the real work began — and that work had no infrastructure. Clinicians searched Google, consulted colleagues, recalled training from years earlier, and assembled differential diagnoses from fragmented, unstructured sources. The quality of that process depended entirely on the individual clinician's experience and memory. On a good day, with an expert in the room, the reasoning was excellent. On other days, it wasn't.
The specific problem was combinatorial: when two, three, or four abnormal findings co-occur, the number of possible syndrome associations explodes in ways that even experienced clinicians cannot reliably navigate from memory alone. This is not a failure of training. It is a consequence of the cognitive complexity of the domain. There are over 7,000 rare diseases with potential prenatal manifestations. No human working memory can hold that structure.
Our clinical team approached the GrowthGuardian engineering team with a specific idea: not an imaging AI that interprets scans, but a decision support tool that activates after abnormalities are identified — respecting the clinician's findings and extending the clinical reasoning from that point. The tool should never challenge what the clinician sees. It should help them think about what it means.
That design principle — clinician-respecting, not clinician-challenging — shaped every aspect of ScanOFe's architecture. It is why ScanOFe is not SONIO. It is why ScanOFe does not re-interpret images. It is why the product's first question, in every interaction, is: what did the clinician find?
"The imaging is solved. The problem is the 20 minutes after the scan ends — when a clinician needs to reason about what the findings mean, and has no structured tool to help them do it."
ScanOFe Clinical TeamThe Team
Clinical expertise meets technical execution
ScanOFe is the product of a deliberate collaboration: practicing fetal medicine specialists who understand the clinical problem at its deepest level, working with a technology team that can build the infrastructure to address it.
Dr. Foram Acharya
Obstetrician & Gynecologist — Fetal Medicine
Dr. Foram Acharya brings clinical perspective from obstetrics and gynaecology practice with a focus on prenatal assessment. As a scientific advisor, she contributes to ScanOFe's clinical validation process and provides the obstetrician's perspective on workflow integration — particularly in settings where fetal medicine specialists may not be immediately available.
Her contribution ensures that ScanOFe's design accounts for the full range of clinical settings in which prenatal ultrasound interpretation occurs — from tertiary fetal medicine centres to high-volume OB/GYN practices and radiology departments performing anomaly scans.
Tapan Patel
Co-founder & CEO, Third Rock Techkno — Founder, TrueReadyAI
Tapan is the Co-founder and CEO of Third Rock Techkno and the Founder of TrueReadyAI. Over the past 12+ years he has built AI-enabled software for education institutions and product teams across the UK, GCC, and US — delivering LMS platforms, adaptive learning systems, school management software, and AI workflow tools for universities, training organisations, and EdTech startups. Third Rock Techkno is an official FlutterFlow partner, with education as its deepest vertical.
That depth put Tapan inside a problem most teacher training providers do not discuss openly: trainees complete ITT programmes technically prepared, but not conversation-ready. He built TrueReadyAI to close that gap — an AI conversation training and staff certification platform for SCITT programmes, PGCE routes, and school-direct pathways. The same conviction — that structured practice and evidence beat memory and instinct — shapes his work on ScanOFe's product strategy.
Krunal Shah
CTO, Third Rock Techkno
Krunal is the CTO of Third Rock Techkno, bringing over a decade of engineering leadership across web, mobile, and AI-driven platforms. He has architected and scaled software systems for education, healthcare, and enterprise clients across the UK, GCC, and US — with a particular focus on systems where reliability, data integrity, and responsiveness are non-negotiable.
On ScanOFe, Krunal leads the engineering architecture: the data model behind the syndrome and gene knowledge base, the inference layer that powers Forward and Reverse Mode, and the security and compliance posture that underpins ISO 13485 certification. His standard is simple — clinical software has to behave the same way on every case, every time, in every clinical setting.

What We Believe
The gap between imaging and diagnosis should not depend on who is in the room
Fetal medicine has a solved imaging problem and an unsolved decision-support problem. The former has attracted enormous investment. The latter — the 20 minutes of clinical reasoning after the scan ends — has been left to individual memory and experience.
We believe that a structured decision support tool, built by practicing clinicians and grounded in the clinical literature, can meaningfully reduce the dependence of diagnostic quality on individual expertise. Not by replacing that expertise — but by flooring the minimum quality of reasoning available to every clinician, in every setting, on every case.
That is ScanOFe's purpose. No fetal diagnosis should depend on memory alone.
